Phil Mickelson and Rickie Fowler played with Tiger Woods in one of the "super groups" at the 2018 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
All big names with high expectations for the tournament that is often referred to as the fifth major. But the super group was anything but, as Mickelson had a disastrous first round and failed to make the cut, while Fowler had back-to-back double bogeys in the second round and was also sent packing.
The first of those double bogeys came on the sixth hole (the group played the back nine first Friday) when Fowler hit the ball in a tree and it did not come down.
