Peter Senior Hangs Up the Sticks After Painful WD

JORDAN SPIETH WON HIS SECOND Australian Open in three years by sinking a 10-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a playoff with Cameron Smith and Ashley Hall. Spieth shot a final-round 69 to finish in the three-way tie at 12-under par at Royal Sidney Golf Club.

Earlier in the tournament, 57-year-old Peter Senior withdrew after five holes in the second round and abruptly announced his retirement from the tournament circuit. Senior, playing with an ailing hip, has been plagued by injuries for two years.

"I don't enjoy playing like this," Senior said. "I can't hit a shot.
