Peter Senior, 56, wins Australian Masters; DeChambeau places second

Score another one up for the oldies.

It took a second consecutive 68 on a testing layout but 56-year-old Peter Senior captured a two-shot win at the Australian (UNIQLO) Masters in Melbourne on Sunday.

Senior made six birdies in his first 13 holes and held out from there with four bogeys and a par to take the title. This is his third career Australian Masters title and means that he has captured the Australian triple crown (Australian PGA Championship, Open and Masters) since he turned 50.

In that case then, maybe the specter of Senior's advancing age wasn't as big a deal as it seemed.
