Parel, Fish win Diamond Resorts Invitational titles

Scott Parel and Mardy Fish were the winners Sunday in the Diamond Resorts Invitational in Orlando, Fla.

Parel, a member of the PGA Tour Champions, defeated Scott Dunlap on the first hole of their playoff to go wire to wire in the professional division, while tennis pro Fish garnered his second DRI celebrity title, finishing 14 points ahead of Jeremy Roenick in the event, which uses modified Stableford scoring.

Parel had already made eight birdies when he came to the final hole at Tranquilo Golf Club, a 203-yard par 3. He needed only a par to stay ahead of Dunlap, but he missed the green and failed to get up and down, sending the two to their playoff.
