O'Sullivan turns uncertainty to opportunity with Women's Am title

PORTLAND, Ore. – A U.S. Golf Association championship presents an uncertain dance for competitors and their families. Greg O’Sullivan felt it at the start of the week as his daughter Hannah laced up her shoes to start the U.S. Women’s Amateur.

The O’Sullivans first did this drill in 2010 when Hannah made her Women’s Am debut in Charlotte, N.C., as a 12-year-old. Last year, she made it all the way to the semifinals before losing to Brooke Henderson. On Sunday, O’Sullivan made it to the bitter end, winning the regal Robert Cox Trophy at Portland Golf Club to chart a major turning point in the course of her career.
