ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – Second-round play at the Open Championship was suspended because of darkness Friday.
Play will resume at 7 a.m. local (2 a.m. ET) Saturday. Fourteen groups (42 players) have yet to finish their rounds.
Leader Dustin Johnson (-10), Grand Slam hopeful Jordan Spieth (-5) and Tiger Woods (+5) are among those who have not yet completed 36 holes.
The start of the second round lasted only 14 minutes because of high winds and torrential rain that pounded the area early Friday. Play was delayed by more than three hours as the maintenance crew squeegeed the greens and pumped standing water out of fairways.
