There are the Kona Winds and there are the Trade Winds, but what is wafting in from Maui is the warm news regarding Mark Rolfing. The longtime NBC and Golf Channel reporter/analyst has pronounced himself to be “doing great” in his battle with a rare form of salivary gland cancer.
All of which means one thing: “I’ll be back in the saddle.”
He won’t have to wait long, either, because NBC and TGC will be broadcasting the first tournament of 2016, the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. It will commence Jan. 7, for the 18th straight year from the Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort in Maui, making it the consummate “home game” for the personable Rolfing.
