LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Another winless season ended Sunday for Phil Mickelson, who will not advance to the Tour Championship for the second consecutive year.
Mickelson closed out his 2014-15 season with a 4-under 67 and was tied for 33rd when he finished his round at the BMW Championship. He was outside the top 60 in FedEx Cup points.
The 45-year-old recorded only three top-10s in 19 starts, and none since the FedEx St. Jude Classic in early June. He didn’t finish in the top 30 in each of the three playoff events, but was selected as one of the two captain’s picks for next month’s Presidents Cup.
