Matthew Fitzpatrick's bid for 59 falls short at KLM Open

Matthew Fitzpatrick stood over a 25-footer at Kennemer Golf and Country Club's ninth hole with a chance to shoot 59.

The 21-year-old Englishman rolled his putt straight toward the hole, but watched as it stopped just inches short.

So close.

Close but no cigar! Matt Fitzpatrick's putt for a 59 comes up just short but what a round. #KLMOpen https://t.co/oxRUm8XN6l
