Malnati, Wittenberg hold onto El Bosque lead

Peter Malnati and Casey Wittenberg have matched each other for two straight rounds at the Web.com Tour's El Bosque Mexico Championship, and they share the lead heading into the weekend.

After playing the front nine in 4 under, Malnati closed with a birdie at No. 18, capping a round of 4-under 68. Malnati finished the day with six birdies and two bogeys. Wittenberg, who started at No. 10, played a bogey-free round of 68, finishing with two birdies over his final three holes at El Bosque Golf Club in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico.

"I'm starting to get my golf swing grooving, I'm hitting a lot of shots that are going right at the target I set," said Malnati after Round 1.
