SAN FRANCISCO – Quietly, clinically Hunter Mahan has forged a dominant course this week at the WGC-Cadillac Match Play.
For two days the 2012 Match Play champion has not lost a hole, has led following every hole and has improved his record in the event to 19-6, becoming just one of three players (Tiger Woods and Geoff Ogilvy) to have at least 19 victories.
Just don’t tell him he’s had it easy.
“That’s lucky to say the least,” said Mahan, who is a combined 6 under par through 27 holes following his 5-and-3 victory over Ben Martin on Thursday.
