RIDGEDALE, Mo. – “You’ve made it to the chapel,” Jolande Lyle said proudly to her husband, Sandy, a smile creasing her face.
Jolande, who caddied for her husband at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf, said she told him earlier in the week that he wasn’t allowed to go there until he earned a trip. The chapel, at Top of the Rock, the par-3 course that serves as one of the two tournament venues for the Champions Tour team event, offers stunning views of the Ozarks while doubling as tournament media center this week. Lyle and partner Ian Woosnam were invited there after shooting 7-under 47 in the modified alternate shot format in two trips around the 9-hole course.
