The monstrous Plantation Golf & Country Club Panther and Bobcat courses proved enough tougher on day two at LPGA Q-School Stage II, and some big names took advantage.
Yu Liu retained her lead in Venice, Fla., but did so with a second-round 2-over 74 on the Panther layout. The Beijing Native's Friday score dropped her to 2 under and in a share of the lead with Grace Na (71-71). The American's Friday subpar score (on the Panther) was one of just eight on the day in the 195-player field.
The top 80 and ties from this week move on to the final stage of Q-school, and the rough conditions helped key players go a long way in securing their passing spot.
