Lexi Thompson surges to Meijer LPGA Classic title

Sunningdale, England – Marco Dawson spoiled the party. He snuck in and won the Senior British Open when everyone expected Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer to fight it out for the title.

They reverted to type in the final round, and that helped Dawson to victory.

No one told career journeyman Dawson that guys like him are supposed to take a back seat to Hall of Famers like Montgomerie and Langer.

Dawson returned an 6-under-par final round of 64 to finish on 264, 16-under-par, to beat Langer by a shot. He earned a check for approximately $325,000.
