Jake Knapp will not be returning to the UCLA roster for his senior spring. In fact, he's already made his debut in the paid ranks.
Knapp made his first start as a professional Sunday at the Sony's Open pre-qualifier. A 74 was enough to advance him on to the Monday qualifier, where he posted 71 – three short of a chance to earn a Sony Open spot.
A solid maiden voyage in the professional game, the performance meant a couple days in paradise before Knapp took a red eye Monday night back home to California. But home is no longer UCLA.
