Nicolo Ravano holed out for eagle from the fairway on his final hole Friday in the Fred Olsen Challenge of Spain to shoot only the second 59 in European Tour history.
Ravano, 31, of Genoa, Italy, made 10 birdies through 17 holes at Tecina Golf in La Gomera in the Canary Islands and knew that he needed an eagle to break 60. After driving into the fairway on the 446-yard, par-4 18th, he hit a full sand wedge to a back-right hole location and spun it into the hole.
