Juli Inkster sent a message to her Solheim Cup team: follow the leader. Inkster shot 71-68 Aug. 30 to nab the Legends Championship on the Pete Dye Course at French Lick (Ind.) Resort.
“If a 55-year old can win, they can win, too,” said Inkster, who won her first tournament on The Legends Tour in her third start. She took home $37,700 for her efforts.
Inkster began the day tied with Laura Davies and Trish Johnson. Davies fell away early with a 73, but Inkster birdied the last two holes to secure a two-stroke victory over former Solheim foe Johnson.
