Scotty Cameron and Sean Toulon, once close friends, eventually tested their relationship as creators of competing putter lines: Cameron with Titleist, Toulon with TaylorMade.
Now they’re at it again. Cameron is the world’s best-known putter designer, while Toulon is on his own with a new line of Toulon Design putters.
“Everything is OK between us,” Toulon said Thursday at the PGA Merchandise Show. “I admire his success.”
However, the former executive vice president of product creation for TaylorMade couldn’t avoid a moment of levity. “Scotty and I flew out here on the same plane,” he said.
