Ian Baker-Finch shares magic moment at First Tee of Conn.

Cromwell, Conn. — What started as just another breakfast meeting quickly turned into a very special moment.

The First Tee of Connecticut holds an annual breakfast on the Saturday of the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands. It’s as much about fund raising as facility information and cheer leading, with president and executive director David Polk serving as emcee.

The Travelers had a pretty good field this year, with Bubba Watson atop the 36-hole leaderboard and the likes of Brandt Snedeker, Sergio Garcia, Keegan Bradley and Billy Horschel having made the cut, all of them – along with two dozen others who teed it up Thursday – having come over directly from the U.
