The 23-year-old opened his Saturday with 10 straight pars but collected three birdies in his final eight holes at TPC Sawgrass - Dye's Valley to jump ahead by two.
Chez Reavie sits in solo second at 11 under, with Lucas Glover another shot back alone in third.
