Gordon Sargent, Michael Thorbjornsen and 14 others to attend U.S. Walker Cup practice session

The USGA announced Tuesday the 16 Americans who have accepted invites to attend next month’s U.S. Walker Cup practice session.

Headlining the list are Vanderbilt sophomore Gordon Sargent, the reigning NCAA individual champion, and Stanford junior Michael Thorbjornsen, who is ranked fourth in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, a spot behind Sargent.

They will be joined Dec. 15-18 in Jupiter, Florida, by Sargent’s Vanderbilt teammate Cole Sherwood, North Carolina teammates Dylan Menante and David Ford, Tennessee teammates Caleb Surratt and Bryce Lewis, Wake Forest’s Michael Brennan, Pepperdine’s Derek Hitchner, North Florida’s Nick Gabrelcik, Georgia Tech’s Ross Steelman, Notre Dame’s Palmer Jackson, Ohio State’s Maxwell Moldovan, Virginia’s Ben James and mid-amateurs Stewart Hagestad and Evan Beck.
