Some thoughts on Day 2 coverage of the British Open:
>> Host Mike Tirico opened Day 2 around 1:30 a.m. Eastern time with this: “We expect rain to come from those clouds in the next 2½ hours or so. The weather will be much more of a factor on this second day at Royal Troon.” Bring it on. Enough of the Open from Torrey Pines. Let’s get to the real Open.
>> Speaking of Tirico, here’s hoping he gets more airtime on the weekend. He was limited to setting up segments and a few short periods calling live action.
