SAN MARTIN, Calif. — Great Britain and Ireland turned a two-point deficit into a three-point lead in the span of about an hour, then went on to grab a 3-1 lead after the morning four-ball session Friday at the 27th PGA Cup at CordeValle.

The PGA Cup is an international match-play competition featuring a team of club and teaching professionals from the United States against such a squad from Great Britain and Ireland. The U.S. has never lost at home, leads the overall series, 17-5-4, and has dropped just one match since 1984.
