SAN MARTIN, Calif. – The 2016 Olympic Games represented a fresh, exciting goal for Karrie Webb, the LPGA Hall of Famer who has practically done it all. For years now, Webb has said she would evaluate her schedule after Rio de Janiero.
“I don’t know how much I’ll want to be full time on tour after the Olympics,” Webb told Golfweek in 2013.
It seemed at the time, of course, that Webb would be a lock to represent Australia. Felt that way at the beginning of the year, as well. But Su Oh, a 20-year-old who began 2016 with limited LPGA status, sits poised to dash Webb’s Olympic dreams.
