Elizabeth Wang takes Junior PGA lead after third-round 71

BRYAN, Texas — Elizabeth Wang of San Marino, Calif., survived a rough stretch to end her front nine, shot an even-par 71 and took a one-stroke lead Wednesday in the third round of the 40th Junior PGA Championship at Miramont Country Club.

Wang is at 4-under 209 through 54 holes, one stroke ahead of Mariel Galdiano of Pearl City, Hawaii, and three ahead of Yujeong Son of Norman, Okla., the 18- and 36-hole leader who struggled to a 75.

Coming off her best finish of the year, a runner-up effort at the AJGA Bishops Gate Golf Academy Junior Open in Chico, Calif.
