Easton Paxton (2017) commits to North Carolina State

After recently signing an impressive trio of golfers for the Class of 2016 (Dwight Cauthen, Christian Salzer and Benjamin Shipp), North Carolina State has received its first verbal commitment for the Class of 2017.

Easton Paxton, a 16-year-old from Riverton (Wyo.) High School, told Golfweek earlier this month that he picked the Wolfpack over Texas A&M, Arizona State, Auburn, Colorado and Utah.

Paxton won the 2015 North and South Junior in Pinehurst, N.C., this summer. During that trip, Paxton visited the N.C. State campus.

"He really liked the golf course, short-game practice facility, and the list of golf courses in the area to play, practice, and improve," said Paxton's father, Curt Paxton, who called his son's commitment a "tough decision.
