Donaldson wins Thailand event; Westwood earns British Open spot

Jamie Donaldson won twice on Sunday, capturing the Thailand Golf Championship and earning a spot in the 2016 Open Championship.

The Welshman kept the birdies rolling on Sunday, as he posted nine of them in a final-round 7-under 65 at Amata Spring Country Club to take the Thailand title by three shots. For Donaldson, 40, it was his third round in the 60s for the week and he finished 72 holes with 31 birdies in a 21-under performance.

“It was important to come here and try and play well and contend and I did that and ended up winning," Donaldson said.
