Bryson DeChambeau's much-anticipated first round as a professional is in the books. The result: a 1-under-par 70, good for a tie for 25th place in the first round of the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links.
"I just thought of it as another tournament," said DeChambeau, who last year became only the fifth player to win the NCAA Division I individual championship and the U.S. Amateur in the same year. "I wasn't thinking much more than that, it's just another tournament, let's go out there and play some good golf."
DeChambeau got off to an inauspicious start, bogeying the first hole, but he immediately followed with a birdie at the par-5 second.
