Dan Halldorson, member of Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, dies at age 63

Dan Halldorson, a former PGA Tour golfer and member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame, died of a stroke Wednesday night in Cambridge, Ill.

Halldorson, who was 63 years old, played on the PGA Tour from 1975 to 2004 and earned nearly $1.2 million. He notched one career official Tour victory, at the 1980 Pensacola Open.

He was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2002.

"It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Dan Halldorson, whose lifetime of achievements in Canadian golf both as a player and a builder of what is now the Mackenzie Tour rank him among the greatest contributors to the game in the country's history," said Jeff Monday, Mackenzie Tour president.
