Collin Morikawa wins Trans-Mississippi Championship

BLUFFTON, S.C. – Anthony Maccaglia didn’t carry the Oglethorpe bag to the Players Amateur, but it doesn’t mean Maccaglia is through carrying the torch for his team or his division.

In four years at the Division III school in Atlanta, Maccaglia latched on to two words: undersized and overlooked. It’s what led him to the school and to Jim Owen’s fatherly wing in the first place. Maccaglia was a late bloomer, but a reliable roster spot allowed him the opportunity to quickly catch up.

Four years later, Maccaglia not only has an Oglethorpe degree but a load of tournament victories and an NCAA title (team and individual in 2012).
