British Open Tee Times 2022: Pairings and Predictions for Friday Schedule

After almost a week of buildup, that included the annual champions dinner and additional shots and cold shoulders directed towards LIV golfers, Round 1 of The Open Championship at the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland officially got underway on Thursday morning.

Rory McIlroy entered the 150th British Open as the odds-on favorite to hoist the Claret Jug on Sunday and after going 6-under 66 on the day, he's backing up that prediction with an impressive landing in second place on the leaderboard, despite the windy conditions.

But as others who were expected to attack par like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth and Xander Schauffele didn't fare as well, it was Cameron Young, who was originally pegged to come in at 10th place that had the best day at the "Home of Golf" after snagging first place after day one.
