British Open 2016: Tee Times, Date, TV Schedule and Prize Money

Round 1 of the 2016 British Open begins on Thursday, July 14, as the world's top golfers compete in the oldest championship in the sport.

Per the Telegraph, the players will share a purse of £6.5 million. The winner will receive £1,175,000 of that, while the runner-up will take home £675,000.

Sky Sports will be broadcasting the entirety of the 145th Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club, with live coverage beginning at 6:30 a.m. BST on Thursday and Friday. On Saturday, coverage will begin at 8 a.m. BST, and the final day will start at 7.
