The Boston-area FedEx Cup Playoff event formerly known as the Deutsche Bank Championship will now be called the Dell Technologies Championship beginning in 2017.
The PGA Tour announced the name change Wednesday, noting that the tournament will remain at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., with its traditional Monday finish on Labor Day.
This is the second name change in as many months for the second leg of the postseason. Tour officials announced last month that EMC Corporation would be the new title sponsor of the event, but EMC and Dell agreed on a merger that was recently approved, necessitating another name change.
