Six hotels were added to 2016 AAA/CAA Five Diamond Rating list released Jan. 15, including two at U.S. golf resorts – The Cloister at Sea Island in Georgia and The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain in Marana, Ariz.
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain is the former host course of the PGA Tour’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Sea Island hosts the Tour’s RSM Classic in November.
Another golf resort, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., is the only hotel to maintain Five Diamond status each year since 1976, the first year AAA produced its Diamond Ratings.
