The fans who follow professional golf can cite plenty of memorable moments over the years from the Masters, the United States Open and the British Open.
That isn’t necessarily the case with the least glamorous of the four majors, the P.G.A. Championship, which starts Thursday on the Ocean Course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina.
