Warriors Weekly: Recapping The Warriors' Run To 13-0 And Looking At The Road Ahead

The Golden State Warriors kept the good times rolling this past week, and we're here to get you up to speed with the fun that was and the excitement to come with this edition of Warriors Weekly.

The Week That Was

Since we last left the Warriors, Golden State moved from 11-0 to 13-0 with wins over the Toronto Raptors at home (115-110) and the Los Angeles Clippers on the road (124-117).

The main highlight was the comeback for the ages against the Clippers on Thursday night. Golden State erased a 23-point first half deficit, marking the biggest comeback in the NBA this season. The Warriors closed the game on a 25-8 spurt, securing their 13th win in a row to open the 2015-16 NBA season. Stephen Curry remains Stephen Curry, dropping 40 points on the Clippers including keying a fourth-quarter spurt for the Dubs where they shot 88.9% from downtown (8-of-9).

Now at 13-0, the Warriors are just the fifth team in NBA history to open a campaign with a 13-game winning streak or better.

What's Next?

Here comes history. The Warriors play the second game of a back-to-back on Friday night, hosting the Chicago Bulls (8-3) at Oracle Arena. Star Bulls PG Derrick Rose will sit with an ankle injury, as will backup Aaron Brooks. If the Warriors can take advantage of a depleted Chicago backcourt and secure the win, they'll tie the 1957-58 Boston Celtics for the longest winning streak to start a season by an NBA champion.

Golden State will travel to the Mile High City this weekend in advance of the team's road game against a reinvigorated Denver Nuggets (6-6) who's won four of their past six. With wins over the Bulls and Nuggets, the Warriors will pull even with the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and 1993-94 Houston Rockets for the most wins to start an NBA season (15-0).

From there, it'll just take a beatdown of a disorganized Los Angeles Lakers (2-9) team two days before Thanksgiving at Oracle to secure Golden State's place alone at the top of the list.

Injuries

Klay Thompson has been dealing with intermittent back stiffness this year which has played a part in an inconsistent shooting start to the 2015-16 campaign. However, he sure looked fine against the Clippers on Thursday. He scored 25 in 39 minutes, shooting 6-for-12 from the field and 3-for-5 from three.

Shaun Livingston sat out the team's game against Los Angeles with a hip flexor strain in his left side. He is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Bulls.

Leandro Barbosa missed Thursday's game with flu-like symptoms. He is also questionable for Friday's game.

Promotions

Friday's home game against the Chicago Bulls will be a big one for collectors, as the first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive a replica championship trophy commemorating the team's run to a title this past summer. In addition, as part of Authentic Fan Friday, all fans will receive an Andrew Bogut Authentic Fan Cheer Card. Additional swag will be given away to fans sitting in the Authentic Fan section (212).

Tuesday's potential record-breaker against the Lakers will take place during Hardwood Classic Night. Among other things, the Warriors will wear "The City" jerseys that were originally released during the 1966-67 campaign. In addition, the first 10,000 fans through the door will receive a Draymond Green Championship Edition Bobblehead.

All upcoming Warriors promotions can be found on their official website.
