Warriors Unhappy With Defense In Win Over Mavericks

The Golden State Warriors picked up win No. 65 Friday against the Dallas Mavericks, but that doesn't mean they were happy about. The team was not pleased with its defensive effort in the 128-120 win.

"Our defense was horrific," Kerr told CSN Bay Area. "Dallas exposed us. They ran great stuff. They made shots and they deserve all the credit in the world. But our defense was horrific. We lost focus time after time . . . we did a good job offensively, but defensively we were a mess."

Guard Klay Thompson blamed the poor defensive effort on a lack of discipline.

"We just were not as disciplined as we should be," Thompson said. "We were jumping on pump fakes, not sticking to the game plan or sending guys the right way. We can’t do that if we want to play in May and June, especially against a team we might see in the first round."

Draymond Green blamed the team's focus on the defensive side of the ball, while Stephen Curry said there was poor communication. Despite the issues, the Warriors are closer to reach 73 wins.
