Steve Kerr Runs Practice, Plans To Travel With Team And More From Today's Practice

With Luke Walton out sick, Steve Kerr ran today's practice for the Golden State Warriors. Kerr has been more involved in recent weeks, but still isn't quite ready to return full-time.

"I'm Not 100 percent, still have symptoms that I'm dealing with," Kerr said at practice Tuesday.

Kerr plans on traveling with the team during their upcoming road trip, but said he won't return to the head coach role until after the New Year. Star guard Stephen Curry said Kerr is doing well in his recovery from back surgery.

"He looks good," Curry said. "He has a way of energizing us."

Of course, the Warriors have been plenty energized this season. Golden State has the best record in the NBA, at 26-1. The Warriors have posted that mark despite injuries to Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes this season. Both players returned to practice Tuesday.

Barnes will not play Wednesday against the Utah Jazz, but Bogut said he expects to be back. Bogut left the team's game against the Bucks last Friday with a back issue. He missed time earlier this season as well. Barnes has not played since the end of November because of an ankle injury.

With Bogut's injuries, Festus Ezeli has played an increased role for the team. Curry has been pleased with his play on both ends of the court.

"He keeps the defense honest, they have to defend him down low," Curry said. "We get more space to make a play."

Ezeli is averaging 8.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 20 minutes per game this season.
