It’s been occurring to me lately that the W’s rebuilding process is more complicated than many of us might’ve originally imagined.
At first it looked like it might go like this…
Steph, Draymond, Looney, and D’Angelo Russell would lead a W’s team that would still be pretty good—and certainly damn interesting. Journeymen who could contribute would be sorted out. A youngster or two would surprise.
And then sometime after the all-star break, there’d be a collective deep breath, and the W’s would assess. Wasn’t this a core—with its leaders’ and culture’s championship pedigree—who could still make a run at a playoff spot?
