Warriors tell Klay: ‘To play or not to play’

BOSTON — Klay Thompson wants to play Friday, but the Warriors might make him play it smart.

The shooting guard didn’t participate in practice at Emerson College on Wednesday, but after getting treatment on his sprained right ankle, Thompsons plans to test the injury by running Thursday and believes he’ll be ready to play against Boston on Friday - when the Warriors could pass the 2012-13 Miami Heat for the NBA’s second-best winning streak ever at 28 games.

“It feels a lot better,” Thompson said, about 18 hours after he turned his ankle while landing on teammate Shaun Livingston’s foot during the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s victory over Indiana.
