So there was the Warriors’ Stephen Curry on Instagram on Wednesday wearing a hoodie with a logo reading “Underrated.”
Irony?
A practical joke?
All his other hoodies were in the wash?
What gives?
Turns out the hoodie and its message is steeped in fact. It’s true — as an adolescent Curry had trouble separating from the crowd, hoops-wise.
This is from a treatise Curry wrote about a year ago on The Players Tribune, relating a turning point in his life — the 2001 AAU national championships in Tennessee.
