On Sunday night, the Stanford Cardinal women's basketball team ended a 29-year championship drought in dramatic fashion, barely hanging on to beat the Arizona Wildcats, 54-53.
One of the stars of the game was freshman Cameron Brink, who was limited to 19 minutes due to foul trouble but still had 10 points, six rebounds and three blocks. This NCAA championship is just the latest accolade for Brink. She joined Stanford in 2020 as one of the highest-ranked recruits in the country, an elite post player and two-time gold medalist with Team USA's U19 and U17 squads. After the NCAA title was assured, her godbrother — who happens to be Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry — posted a heartfelt congratulations message on his Instagram.
