Warriors stave off infamy and snap 'gross' streak despite 'pathetic' start

The Golden State Warriors toyed with some embarrassing history during their 121-108 win over the Houston Rockets on Monday.

Had the Dubs lost that game, they would have tied the NBA record for a defending champion's worst road losing streak. The Chicago Bulls set that record in the 1998-99 season after Michael Jordan's second retirement, and second threepeat, with 12 straight road losses.

However, that team had the excuse of losing the arguably greatest player in NBA history, trading away Scottie Pippen and dealing with a lockout-shortened season that didn't begin until February. The Dubs' excuses aren't nearly as good.
