The Golden State Warriors have signed center Kavion Pippen to a training camp contract, the team announced on Monday.
Pippen is the nephew of Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, but more importantly, he’s a center. And the Warriors desperately need centers, if only to be camp bodies.
Willie Cauley-Stein is missing all of training camp due to a foot strain, and Kevon Looney is currently sidelined due to a mild hamstring injury, so the Warriors essentially don’t have any centers. Camp invite Marquese Chriss impressed in the preseason opener on Saturday, but the team is still wildly thin at the position.
