Warriors' season may be over thanks to one historically bad quarter

Just one bad quarter may have doomed the Golden State Warriors 2025 postseason. But what a bad quarter it was.

In Golden State’s 117-110 Game 4 loss to Minnesota, the Timberwolves outscored the Warriors 39-17 in the third, flipping what was a two-point Warriors halftime lead into a 20-point deficit. According to Stathead, Sports Reference’s statistical inquiry website, it was a historically awful quarter. The 22-point differential was the worst third-quarter performance at home in franchise history. It’s also just the fifth time that the Dubs have been outscored by more than 20 points in a playoff quarter ever.
