Warriors owner Joe Lacob assessed odd anti-tampering fine for doubting skills of 76ers' Ben Simmons

According to a bunch of NBA reporters who tweeted the same thing at the same time, Golden State Warriors majority owner Joe Lacob was fined $50,000 on Wednesday afternoon for violating anti-tampering rules.

As of this writing, none of said reporters, nor the NBA, has fully explained the rationale behind the fine, just that it stemmed from comments Lacob gave to The San Francisco Chronicle on Tuesday about disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons. (The San Francisco Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by the same parent company, Hearst, but operate independently of each other.)
