Warriors’ opening night: Rings, bling and other things

The bling was the thing at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night, where the world champion Warriors held a house party for 19,596 of their fondest fans.

And though there were plenty of stars on the court and in the stands, it was the diamond- and sapphire-studded gold rings that shined brightest.

After the team’s pregame ring ceremony, in which Curry and Co. received their rings and the championship banner was unveiled, Warriors co-owner Peter Guber and showed me his new bauble. It was so bright, I could hardly look directly at it.

Guber, a Hollywood movie mogul, let me try on the massive ring — and it weighed about a quarter ton.
