You know it was a rough season opener for the Warriors when their best duo was two guys who never left their seats Thursday night, the reborn radio tandem of Tim Roye and Tom Tolbert.
It was no reflection of the performances of Tolbert and Roye that scores of Warriors fans likely snapped off their radios or silenced their mobile devices in disgust during the broadcast of a depressing 141-122 loss to the Clippers..
The colorful Tolbert, more everyman than former Warrior, couldn’t help but feel their pain.
“I think I threw my pen more tonight than I did since the last year I did with you,” Tolbert said afterward to Roye, with whom he’s partnered with again for the first time in three seasons.
