Stars supporting stars from other mediums is nothing new. But the Golden State Warriors have now linked up with two members of international K-pop super-groups, building a powerful bloc that the team can stack up against any other NBA fanbase for star power.
During the Warriors' preseason trip to Japan, Steph Curry connected with one of the stars of K-pop sensation BTS, Suga. Suga has a well-documented history as a rabid NBA fan,including sporting NBA jerseys in several music videos, and deriving his stage name in part from combining the first syllables of his own position in basketball — shooting guard or shoo-ga.
