Warriors’ Kevon Looney (abdominal strain) to play Saturday vs. Cavaliers

CLEVELAND — Oft injured center Kevon Looney will return to the lineup tonight when the Warriors play the Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

“I’m excited for him,” head coach Steve Kerr said. “It’s been a long haul.”

In his first game since Dec. 23, Looney will come off the bench and will have a 20-minute restriction on playing time, as determined by Dr. Rick Celebrini, Golden State’s director of sports medicine and performance.

Looney, 23, has missed the last 18 games with an abdominal strain. Prior to that, he missed 20 of the first 21 games of the season with a hamstring strain and a complicated neuropathic condition.
